Immigration to New Zealand

Aotearoa- Land of the long white cloud

Our owner and director and licensed migration agent, Andrew Kerr, is a born and bred New Zealander, and has enjoyed assisting people with immigration to New Zealand over the last 18 years. Being married to a South African, and with two South African born children, it does make it a lot of fun deciding which rugby team to support in the Kerr household.

New Zealand is a destination that encapsulates beauty, culture and a real sense of adventure.  Attracting visitors and migrants due mainly to its beautiful scenery and stunning locations - as seen in the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy – migrating to New Zealand is also an appealing prospect to many because of its relaxed family culture, and strong support structures in all the critical aspects of a healthy lifestyle. With a population of just over 4 million people, a low unemployment rate and first world infrastructure, the New Zealand Government encourages people with the desired skills and experience to migrate to New Zealand, and  this helps obtaining residency and eventually citizenship to New Zealand a really viable option for a lot of people.

There are several ways to work and permanently immigrate to New Zealand and we can advise on visa options ranging from work visas, business and entrepreneurial visas, study visas and skilled migrant category visas.

As with most countries, immigration to New Zealand has become harder since the world recession and in some cases you will only achieve the right points if you have a job or an offer of employment in New Zealand. The problem here is that most companies will not employ you unless you are a permanent resident or at least have the necessary skills and qualifications.  Once a job offer has been obtained, the applicant would have to submit the necessary documentation for a work visa application. Network partners with recruitment companies who continually advise us about jobs in New Zealand and are prepared to assist our clients once they are at a stage where immigration to New Zealand is imminent. In saying this, our clients need to be committed to being proactive in working with us and these companies to obtain a job or offer of employment in New Zealand, and/or permanent residency visa's. In most cases, a work visa is a step in the process of obtaining a residency visa.

If you would like to know more about New Zealand immigration and which type of visa will be correct for you, please contact us or complete our  assessment form and one of our consultants will be in touch with you.
